Healthy Relationships

Healthy Relationships

"The three C’s:
Communication
Cooperation
Compromise

Healthy relationships take time, commitment and effort
žMost healthy relationships don't progress like a fairy tale.
žThere are hard times in every relationship.
žIt is how people work together through the difficult times that separates successful relationships from failed relationships."

  • How would you portray a normal relationship versus an abnormal relationship using these categories?
Well any relationship is unique to the partnership, so a better way to say it would be a happy vs. not-so-happy relationship. The happy one would be using the 3 C's (of course), but they also would consider each other's time, effort, and responsibilities. As friends they would respect if they want to keep something secret or share it with them, or give them time or space they need to either recover or make other friendships. As a couple they should consider that the other does not need to be with the, 24/7- you can still like each other from far away. For a not-so-happy couple/friendship they would be needy/clingy, selfish– only thinking of their time and effort–and they would not be using the 3 C's.
  • Think about a group (2 or more) of people that weathered a difficult time together and came out closer and had a stronger bond because of it. List the healthy ways they worked through the problem that made the end successful. How did they utilize the 3 Cs?

My mom and dad, for example. They always talk about stuff many times, and they always try to see the other side of the situation. They always try to communicate, cooperate, and compromise. They're a really great example of keeping and cultivating a healthy relationship to me.

Hands Only CPR

Hands-only CPR (Link)

Write the steps of Hands-Only CPR
Very first, tap the person, ask if they're okay, (you don't want to do CPR on a passed out person) look, listen and feel for any signs of breathing, shake their shoulders. If they're unresponsive have someone else call 911 (if you're alone, you'll have to do it) and locate and AED. Turn on AED and follow automated instructions.

If you cannot locate an AED then just press down with your hands in the middle of the chest, push hard and fast, push at least 2 inches down, and keep the beat at 100 BPM, until the paramedics come.

Write a paragraph (at least 5 sentences) about why knowing Hands-Only CPR is important how it could impact your future.
There are many cardiac arrests in a year, and one of them could be my family or myself. I would need to know this so I could help my family (or friends) and I would want others to know so that they could help me. It would be devastating to be in a situation where I could have helped if I had only known how to help. So now that I do, I can help others if ever the chance arises. And hopefully someone would help me if I ever was the victim in this situation.
